The challenge with the Space flyer was to create a strong image to represent a nascent theatre project based around an open-ended concept, specifically 'What is public space and what should it be?' The design had to be fairly abstract to avoid too specific or leading an interpretation. The use of a maze represents both human interaction with space and the range of possible directions the project could take. In addition the natural response to trace a route through it helps draw the eye to the design.
